Aggie Gilmore is a born and bred New Yorker who attended Trinity School and is a recent graduate of Princeton University. Now working as a paralegal in Chicago, she visits New York frequently. Aggie has been a student of Santa lore ever since she can remember.

In The Santa Book, Ms. Gilmore deftly shows how the plump, rosy-cheeked Santa we love today rose from diverse traditions, some of them magical or scary. She has found an antique Christmas card image to match almost every phase of an evolving Santa. The international collection she has gathered is a small treasure that you may choose to leave intact.
